Piano Conversations with Marina Lomazov
Denton, Cottier & Daniels is pleased to announce internationally-acclaimed pianist Marina Lomazov in a free event, Piano Conversations with teachers, students, and music enthusiasts on Friday, November 30th at 10:00am in our showroom. This unique opportunity will provide insights from the renowned artist-teacher of prize-winning students of all ages on how she balances a global performance schedule with a commitment to teaching, adjudicating, and running one of the largest festivals in the United States for pre-collegiate pianists while showcasing the world’s top-talent.
Also as part of the November 30th conversations, Dr. Lomazov will perform and discuss excerpts from her upcoming program on Saturday, December 8th at 7:30pm in Kilbourn Hall at Eastman School of Music. The concert will be a multi-media event featuring Mussorgsky’s evocative “Pictures at an Exhibition,” Nicolai Kapustin’s jazz-inspired virtuosic Variations, Op. 41 on the theme from Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring," and the Rochester premiere of the deeply introspective John Fitz Rogers' Blue River Variations – a work by a living composer and written for the pianist herself. Ahead of the Piano Conversations and live-performance, we encourage you and your students to please enjoy the above links to excerpts of each work performed by Lomazov and to share and print the attached poster for your studio.
